Product details

Excessive absorption of iron by the human body can have an impact on the blood and, in severe cases, damage various organs. So many water quality standards, such as drinking water, surface water, groundwater, electroplating discharge, etc., have imposed restrictions on the content of iron. Detecting iron in water is of great significance for environmental protection and human health.

To eliminate the tedious operation of preparing reagents and testing processes for users, and improve detection efficiency, a method based on phenanthroline spectrophotometry has been developedTotal Iron Reagent - Low Range Total Iron Water Quality TestingThis reagent has the advantages of simple and fast operation, accurate testing, and low cost, which can meet the requirements of batch, rapid, and accurate determination of various water quality.

1. For more accurate testing, the blank value of each new batch of reagents should be measured. The determination of reagent blank is also carried out according to the testing steps, except that the sample is replaced with pure water for testing. Subtract the blank value of the reagent from the final test result;

2. If the content is higher than the reagent range, the measured value can only be used to estimate the dilution factor and cannot be used as a test result. After diluting the sample, retest;

3. This reagent is light purple red in color and may appear slightly yellow after prolonged storage, but it does not affect its use. It is best to store it in a refrigerator or in a cool, dark place;

4. The pH value of the water sample to be tested is best between 2.0 and 9.0, otherwise it may exceed the buffering capacity of the reagent, resulting in prolonged color development time or no color development. If it is not within this range, it is recommended to use dilute acid or dilute alkali for pre adjustment;

5. If the water sample contains strong chelating agents such as EDTA, any concentration level will interfere with the test; Cobalt and copper exceeding 10mg/L will produce positive errors;

6. The triangular positioning mark on the colorimetric tube should be aligned with the positioning mark on the instrument during zeroing and reading;

7. It is recommended to wear gloves when operating this product in a fume hood and keep it out of reach of children. It should not be stored with food, medicine, etc., consumed, or put into a fire.
